The Bonnethead shark
The Bonnethead shark belongs to the Sphyrnidae family. Bonnethead sharks are generally about 0.61 to 0.91 m long, with a maximum size of about 50 cm. Its maximum lifespan is about 12 years. It is believed that bonnethead mate in spring and fall, or even all year round. It can be fished all year round depending on the location. The coloring is a yellowish grey to greenish on the top and white to yellow below. A characteristic dark spot at the tip of the snout is more or less visible, especially in young sharks.
